WillieD13 Posted June 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2010 We have a whole day in Nassau, and have a morning tour booked. Once the tour is over, I want to do some snorkeling. Unfortunately the tour does not finish until after all the good snorkeling excursions have departed, which leave me with doing it on my own, as in off the beach. I've been told however, that the beaches on the north side of the island do not offer much in the way of snorkeling, i.e. no fish or good reefs, and that all the good stuff is on the south side of the island. Looking at the map, South Beach looks like a straight shot from Nassau. Has anyone been there? How does one get there? Is it worth the trip, or are there better beaches and how does one get there? South Beach is a rocky area. Not great for snorkeling. I would not suggest an "off the beaten path" beach these days. Plenty of muggings and robberies taking place on isolated beaches these days. Sorry to say.
