what to do without an excursion

My family and i usually do not do many excursions when we go to islands; we go on by ourselves and do things. We don't like the crowds and paying so much money for the excursions.

My question is if anyone has gone on their own in Roaton, honduras and what they have done.

We are looking for beach or snorkeling or cave tubing, etc We will have children with us so hopefully if a beach there is activities for them.

I have never been here but have read enough about it. My wife and I along with 3 friends are going to get a taxi to West Bay where they have a beautiful beach. We will bring our own snorkel stuff to explore off the beach area. Then we will shower and head to the nearest tiki bar for a late lunch and cocktails. Boat leaved at 6:00 PM.
