Naples to Sorrento

We're thinking about taking the Hydro Foil from Naples to Sorrento. Any suggestions?? Cost, time, or anything else, we should know.;)

We've done this on four occassions. Its very easy - only a forty minute trip which is much faster than the train. The hydrofoil docks in a small harbour below the town and you can walk (15 minutes but very steep) or wait to catch a local bus service. Sorrento is an easy town to look around and has plenty of opportunities to have a coffee or a meal. If you plan to return by hydrofoil buy a return ticket - much cheaper than two singles. I think we paid 10 for a single journey last year. Then we took the train to Pompeii andthen back to Naples. All doable in a day.

Ditto. The hydrofoil is the way to go. We made the mistake of taking the train from Naples to Sorrento. We returned via the hydrofoil. Definitely the preferred option...
