Taxi fares?

Have tried asking this question on the St Lucia Forum with no luck so am asking fellow P & O cruisers instead!!!

 

Am going to St Lucia again on our cruise 31st Jan 2011 and wanted to go to Reduit beach by taxi. Did and excursion last time and didnt really enjoy it as there where alot of ships in port that day and the botanical gardens where like Piccadilly Circus!!!

 

Just my husband and I wil be in the taxi although we are happy to share and wondered if anyone can give us an idea of the return cost?

Castries to Rodney Bay (0.1 mile from Reduit Beach) is mentioned at US $15. There's also a page on different beaches in the side menu.

Beaware if there are a few ships in port on the day you visit Reduit Beach can be packed as well. We decided to take a taxi there last year (there were 3 or 4 ships in dock that day including OV2 and Ventura) and although the beach is lovely with hundreds of sunbeds we could not find an empty one!!!

We got straight back in a taxi and headed to the beach we normally visit away from the maddening crowds!! I would give you the name but don't want this beach to become too busy with visitors!
