Private tours in Skagway & Ketchikan

Aren't most of the port towns small enough to walk around in without renting a tour guide?

 

The point for the above is to get OUT of the "downtown" areas. There is plenty to see and do, if you can get past the shopping. Key is to be well prepared and have plans.

OMG!!!:eek: There is 20x more to Ketchikan then the downtown area around the cruise ship dock. If that's all you experience your missing out on a lot. During the off season this area in Ketchikan looks like a ghost town. Shop windows boarded up and the jewlery hawkers are gone
