Hotel near Ciampino Airport

Flying in to Ciampino,late in evening,then taking the train to Civitavecchia next morning

 

Any recommendations for a hotel for 1 night near Ciampino hotel

None of the hotels that I'm aware of at Ciampino are walking distance from the airport itself. Therefore, you'll need to get a taxi and, once you've done that, you might as well take the taxi to a hotel near the train station, and avoid a second taxi in the morning. For me, it would be a more restful night knowing that all I need to do in the morning is walk a block or two, vs. get a taxi and fight the traffic into the city.

 

You only need to go to Termini station if you are taking an ES City train, all others make at least one stop, so you have more flexibility. An option would be to stay at a hotel near the Rome Ostiense station, a beautiful neighborhood, and take the train from there the next day.

will just take the bus from Ciampino into the Termini & as you suggest,find a reasonable hotel around that area,
