Actually the weather in general...was it warm or hot?THanks Im leaving on Monday YAHOOO The Seas were rough from Port Canaveral to about Cococay both ways. It was cool but sunny about 78. The water was about 85. My room was 5551 inside cabin. I think the food was excellent. This was my 14 cruises and the shows were the best I have every seen. Check out Pete Wickersham in the Viking lounge tell him Steve sent you.

Got on the ship about 11. Got off around 7:30 then took a shuttle 45mins to Orlando. Was in room 5551 inside why pay more. Did the 4 nt 5 day cruise. One formal night it was on Wed. Did really take any Photo's. This was a meet some friends trip.
cterry Posted February 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2005 we are going to be on the same cruise on March 28. this is our first :) Was there just 1 formal night in dining room and what did people (mainly men) where on the other nights. We are bringing our 2 teenage sons and I don't know if they want to bring suits (actually, not sure if any fit them, you know how growing boys are). Can they wear khaki's and nice shirts the other nights? We are on deck 6. anything you can tell me about that would be great! This may be a stupid question but what Deck is the "main deck" to hang out on? thanks for your info
Sea Island Lady Posted February 7, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Your boys will be fine in khaki's and dress shirts/tie for Formal night and khaki's sport shirt for other nights. Grumpy8 -Thank you for the info. Could you get to the shops and casino from your deck or do you have to go up or down stairs/elevator?
peteypie Posted February 7, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Thanks for all the info. What shuttle service did you use and how far in advance did you book with them?? What time was your flight out of Orlando?? Was formal night the day you were in Nassau? Appreciate your posts.

Grumpy8 -Thank you for the info. Could you get to the shops and casino from your deck or do you have to go up or down stairs/elevator? Deck 5 had about 5 steps up to the shop area and casino. It was kind of strange it was like you were on a in between level. There were a lot of Seniors on this trip. More than I have ever seen for a Caribbean cruise. Maybe because of more live in Florida in the winter. They were all nice people. I felt pretty young at 49.

What time was your flight out of Orlando?? Was formal night the day you were in Nassau? Appreciate your posts. We use RCCL service and stayed at the Ramada Inn Suites for $59.95 a night king size bed. It was a great place for the price. They shuttled us back to the airport then took the 45min ride on the RCCL shuttle bus which left about 10:30. Our flight was 1:30pm from Orlando to Philly then to Newburgh NY. Yes Formal night was at Nassau. Bag needed to out by 12:00am on Thursday night. I'm one trip away from Diamond and that will happen in Sept. going to Hawaii. Holly_M Posted February 7, 2005 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Grumpy8, What would you say was the best thing about this cruise? And, of course, what would be the worse thing? We're counting down the days for our cruise. We sail on the Sovereign on 02/14. Any other comments or observations would be appreciated! Thanks! Holly PS: Anyone else going on the 2/14 cruise, please check out the post Muscleman put on the board. We're thinking of setting up a "mini" Meet/Mingle of our own. RCCL only does that for 7 nights or more.

RCCL only does that for 7 nights or more. Being I have been on many ships and have seen over 50 ship staff shows. I would have to say the shows. For a ship this size they put on one heck of a show or shows. I really like taking the back stage tour. This was done at 3:00 on Thursday. Now for the worse was being at sea on Thursday. If it wasn't for the back stage tour this would of been a boring day. I would rather do the Majesty run. You get to go to Key West so you have no Seas days. Which I have already do twice. But I wanted to see what was done to the Sovereign so I took this 4nt 5 day trip.

Grumpy8 Posted February 8, 2005 Author #14 Share Posted February 8, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions :) Kindly welcome to all !! Wish some how I could get a picture to one of you. Pete Wickersham was the guitarist in the Viking Lounge. We took a picture together and I like to get it autographed. Well if anyone goes to see him tell him the Pan player request a Jimmy Buffett song. Like "Penciled in Mustach".

oceanbound05 Posted February 9, 2005 #18 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Just a few questions for ya: 1) Any shows that we should not miss? 2) Nassau: Anything there that stands out we should do as first time cruisers? 3) What were the women wearing for the casual nights? Unless you didn't notice. :)

Unless you didn't notice. :) I would not miss any of the ship dancer shows. They were the best I have ever seen. Nassau: Hmm... there is a lot to see. If you take a short hike in the back of Nassau from where the ship is. There is the Queen steps or you can take a ship tour to get a taste of Nassau. That is what I did the first time I went to Nassau. Women dress would be something you might wear if you were a school teacher Then for Formal night wear somthing you might wear to a wedding. Hope that helps.

jrljel Posted February 10, 2005 #25 Share Posted February 10, 2005 So glad to see that you just came back! We are going next weekend (President's weekend) for a quick getaway in our quest to become Diamond. I have been looking at the weather and it seems like it is warm there so I am happy about that, but two questions... First...how were the seas? I think you said rough which is what I would expect for late Jan, early Feb...sure hope they're still not bad when we go Second...did you get to Coco Cay? The real reason we're anxious to do this short run is the last short cruise we took was the cruise from hell...we never made it to Coco Cay and I so wanted to compare it to Labadee. Any comparisons? I'm hoping that we will make that stop. How was the ship? Did she look good? I'm anxious to see the refurbishment! Thanks... Janey
