Bigleafsfanwife Posted July 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) Okay.. hoping for some feedback.. We all know it is a nasty habit.. but my DH is a smoker - especially when enjoying a beverage.. (it is still legal).. and we want to know about the smoking policy. I am confused as I read that the adult aft pool was a no smoking zone.. wouldn't the other pool (where there would be kids.. ??) be no smoking too? Where on the Lido deck can he smoke? We have a balcony cabin.. and he is very considerate.. but it would be good to know ahead of time. Edited July 11, 2010 by Bigleafsfanwife

That is an area that they used to have smoking in 06.. now you cant.. you can smoke starboard side lido deck midship.. because the dome that can close you cant smoke there.. nchikk Posted July 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2010 If I'm wrong, someone can please (nicely) correct me... I believe smoking is allowed in: your cabin (but not in hallways or elevators) casino (or at least parts of it) outdoor decks, on one side (don't remember port or starboard, but I think s/b) on Fascination, a "cigar bar" area just outside the Puttin' on the Ritz lounge (Prom. deck, aft) Hunny and I both somke and we didn't feel deprived at all. RunnerNic Posted July 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2010 smoking is allowed on the pool deck and in the casino, as well as the piano bar (i think?)... it's not allowed in the cabins

KenMo Posted July 11, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2010 smoking is allowed on the pool deck and in the casino, as well as the piano bar (i think?)... it's not allowed in the cabins Incorrect. Carnival allows smoking in all cabins and on all balconies with the exception of the Cloud 9 Spa cabins on the ships that have them. It's only allowed on one side of the pool (Lido) deck, starboard. Do you mind me asking you what kind of cabin you have? The reason I ask is that "maybe" Carnival is expanding the Spa cabins to other ships??? If the signs in my room said no smoking I would go to the front desk and complain that I had a lazy room steward>

If I could ask you one more question.... was the no smoking sign WHITE and put together so that it formed a triangle (I am just wondering if a cabin steward swiped some off the Promenade tables)
KenMo Posted July 11, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 11, 2010 sure we had cabins 2340 and 2344again i'm not sure i was just going by what my room said That's interesting because there was a guy on here several months ago who swore his cabin had a no smoking sign as well. I don't remember which cabin he had, but it was on one of the lower decks forward like yours. He was on Victory.

jessemon Posted July 12, 2010 #20 Share Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) All cabins are smoking per Carnival except "Spa" cabins on the Dream. Splendor and the new Magic.....This is per Carnival.... Staterooms onboard are not designated as smoking or non-smoking. Guests have the choice if they would like to smoke in the cabins or not (smoking is not allowed in Spa staterooms). All cabins are fully refreshed after each cruise to guarantee incoming guests’ comfort and enjoyment. If upon boarding you are not completely satisfied with the freshness of your stateroom, simply call housekeeping and they will refresh your room again for you. Sounds like someone was pulling a fast one on the sign in the cabin.... Edited July 12, 2010 by jessemon

Please reassure your DH that there will be plenty of places to smoke. ;) Before my first cruise in January, my cruise buddies made me call our PVP several times just to ask, "Are you sure it's okay to smoke in the cabin?" :D Your DH will be fine... divingmedic Posted July 12, 2010 #24 Share Posted July 12, 2010 they should put smokers on a life boat behind the ship and let them smoke there, And people who wear perfume or cologne that is to strong, people that pass gas, people who other people simply do not like for what ever reason, the list could be endless.......get the drift???
