Smoking on Board Carnival LIBERTY

ok, its 5 years later, any update on the smoking policy on the liberty? I don't want to smell smoke in the ship or on the sun deck lounge chairs. How bad is it on this ship?

Check the facts, you can smoke in your cabin, except on the SPA deck.

I am questioning the smoking in public areas. where can folks smoke in public?

can I go on deck and not smell smoke anywhere?

what bars can I go to and not be subjected to smoke?

what dance venues?

Incorrect.

 

Carnival allows smoking in all cabins and on all balconies with the exception of the Cloud 9 Spa cabins on the ships that have them.

 

It's only allowed on one side of the pool (Lido) deck, starboard.

 

NO smoking in any cabins or balconies on Carnival. Dont know where you are coming up with your own rules.

We were just on Liberty this past September and have the "Fun Times" handy. The smoking areas (cigarette and electronic cigarettes) are listed as:

 

Outdoors: Deck 3 and Deck 10, Starboard (right) side

Indoors: Hot & Cool Nightclub & Czar's Casino.

 

Under that it has "Note: Cigars and pipes are only allowed in the outdoor smoking areas."

 

We did see that not ALL of the casino is smoking. There is the main bar at the casino, half is smoking (right side) and the other half is non-smoking (left side). There is a certain section in the casino where smoking is permitted, but we only walked through and didn't spend any time there since we didn't feel like "donating".

I'll be on Celebrity this weekend and they have a smoke free casino. I can only hope that Carnival will continue to evolve its policy. I went on a casino cruise in October on Carnival Magic and my throat is still raspy from inhaling the clouds of smoke and vapors present in that casino.

In the world of documentation, it is far better to have one document that has continuous updates rather than have two documents that are incomplete. In this way should someone do a, gasp, search, and find the first document, they might not realize there is a second document that has more information.

 

So someone who is considerate and thinking, like myself, before I started a new topic, I searched to see if my topic has already been discussed and as such, came across this thread. When I did, I read through it and realized it had not been updated since 2010. At that time I had two choices: start a new thread or resurrect this one. that would be the logical thing to do or to paraphrase Arlo guthrie in "alice's restaurant": "so there at the bottom of the cliff was another pile of garbage, and we decided that one big pile was better than two little piles, and rather than bring that one up we decided to throw ours down."

 

I know I was rather long winded about that, but having spent the last 20 or so years on forums I'll surmise for you who are confused: The general rule of etiquette on forums is that you never start a duplicate new thread if there is one already in place.

It was so bad that you went again in November?;)

 

November wasn't a casino cruise, so it was less crowded, less smoky and it actually closed earlier. Casino cruises get casino players, who spend more time in the casino between the raffles, giveaways, etc. The majority of real casino players smoke, and smoke more as they play.

 

In November I spent little time in the casino, as I didn't have to be there for the raffles, casino games & giveaways.

 

Besides, I booked both cruises way before I experienced the cloud of smoke in October.

the amount of smoking in the casino is amazing. I avoid the casino completely.
