Lsimon Posted July 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2010 Does anyone have any experience with select dining and special diet needs? I know how it works in regular/traditional dining: The Asst. Maitre D' comes around to review the menu after dinner so choices can be selected for special preparation the following night. Does it work the same in select dining or are special diet needs a problem with select dining? We're wondering if select will be an option for our group on an upcoming cruise and this might be a consideration so we'd love to hear about any one's experiences with special diet issues and select. Can'tstopcruising Posted July 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2010 I get a low sodium meal and on our last cruise we did Select Dining. Not a problem. Just arrange with the Maitre D' as soon as you can. Enjoy. We absolutely loved Select Dining.
dandylion Posted July 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2010 i hadn't thought about this before and was considering select dining for our next cruise. However, i need to avoid alcohol in my food and have always relied on the asst Maitre d' for special preparation of my food. I don't know how you can get the same service if you order the food on the spot and not the night before.
