British Isles - Crown Princess - Casino

If you have been on the Crown Princess 'Around Britain' cruise recently can you please tell us if the casino opens after sailing each evening or only on sea days.

Due to British gaming laws we were wondering what to expect.

We were on the Crown last month on the 15 day European Explorer that included Gibraltar, Ireland, Scotland, etc. Casino was open every night!

Just closed down eary (11:30) our last night on the ship.

Last year we were on an around the British Isles cruise on the QM2 and to our unpleasant surprise, the casino was closed the six out of the eight days of the voyage! The ship did not tell the passengers this in advance and the casino staff were also unaware until the day we left Southampton. Cunard claimed it was due to gambling regulations in UK waters, I believe we were not far enough away from the coast to allow the casino to open (15 miles if I remember correctly). I know Cunard is not Princess, but that was our experience.

Someone posted on a previous thread that the casion was open four of the twelve nights of the cruise

We were on the Crown last year doing the British Isles... the casino was closed ALOT... can't remember the exact number of nights but it had to be at least half the cruise... and on other nigths it was reduced hours.

We just got off the Crown and its true the Casino was hardly open. I believe it was open 4 days. I think the ship must be out to sea 12 miles before they can open the casino. Don't remember them offering Bingo often either.

You need to be outside UK waters, which does not happen very often.
