Bill S Posted July 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2010 There are a lot of choices in San Diego. If you have not already done so, you might want to do a search for San Diego hotels at www.tripadvisor.com. You can get a good idea what is available in your price range. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on The Bay, right across from the cruise terminal. It was decent, but I don't know what they are charging these days. We also stayed a couple of blocks away from there, at the Hampton Inn, still within walking distance from the cruise terminal, and it was quite nice. Hope this all helps a bit. Have a great cruise! Splinter Posted July 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2010 not looking to spend alot tho any help thanks Are you driving or flying to San Diego? Do you need parking included? How long will you be in San Diego before/after your cruise? Do you plan to do any sightseeing? Lots of places to recommend, but you don't give us much to go on as far as making a recommendation that meets your needs.

Splinter Posted July 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2010 If you want to stay out of town along Interstate 15, then the Escondido area is fine (about 45 minutes to the pier without traffic) or further north, the Temecula area (more like 1.25 hours north). I would recommend instead though coming all the way to San Diego and staying in the Mission Valley area. Look at the Best Western Seven Seas. They will give you free parking for the cruise, and shuttle you back and forth to the cruise ship terminal. Plenty of places to eat in either Mission Valley or nearby Hillcrest area. JJ2sail Posted July 16, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Most of the Holiday Inn's have been updated in San Diego. Holiday Inn on the Bay certainly has and so has the Bayside. If the Holiday Inn has the new "H" logo it has been updated, and they are quite nice. The Hampton Inn has the train tracks right behind it and can get be noisy at night. But otherwise is also quite nice. If you want to stay in the Old Town area, the Best Western Hacienda is very very nice, you would not even know it was a Best Western. :)
