Has anyone done the Wicker Basket Sled ride In Funchal ?

Do you know if it is available on Sundays ? I read somewhere that it closes at 1pm on Sundays and we only arrive in Madeira at around midday.

Will be doing the sled ride in october we cant wait,there is plenty of vids on youtube maybe there is a link somewhere on there to a website for opening times.

My mum and dad (both in their 70's) did it one December and enjoyed it. The route is no longer cobbled having been tarmacced, so it's not too bumpy a ride. They take a photo of you on your way down which is available to buy at the end.

Yep did it a couple of years ago.

I would say its a must.

I doe's not go as fast as you think and make sure you have a small tip ready at the end.

A euro each would be fine.
