Sapphire Beach or Sugar Bay Beach for jet skiing?

After reading the boards, it seems like the best places for renting skis are Coki, Sapphire, and Sugar Bay beaches. We'd prefer to avoid Coki at this time, and were wondering if anyone has any info on the other two?

My understanding is that Sugar Bay would be through theWyndham Resort....and that if we went to Sapphire, we'd need to walk to the marina for rentals.

Anybody have any info on either of these? Prefer one over the other? How close are these beaches to each other....and what's their proximity to Coki?

I believe the age limit is 18 IIRC....are they flexible with this (kids are 15 and 17) ?

Thx.

You pass the Coki turnoff on the road to both Sugar Bay and Sapphire, but they're not close to Coki by St Thomas standards.

Most people prefer Sapphire's beach to Sugar Bay's, because it's better for snorkeling. However, Sapphire will probably be more crowded because of the Coki incident. Sugar Bay, because it's a full-service resort, probably has better security. There are also other activities at Sugar Bay should you want to do something after you jet ski excursion.
