510picker Posted July 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2010 Curious if anyone has visited these places in a wheelchair. Any suggestions of places to go or places to avoid?
EileenN Posted July 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2010 We have been to Aruba with a wheelchair. We got off the ship and found a cab that was a van and went to the Raddison Hotel. We entered the main entrancce and paid for use of the pool. It was ground zero entry and easily manuvered. We just took a chance and it was not too busy. englishgal Posted July 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2010 we went to Bonaire last year and it was very easy to get around with a whellchair or scooter. I enjoyed the market and the pavements were wide and lovely to go along the waters edge and see all the beautiful fish, I would go back again:)

enyliram Posted July 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2010 we went to aruba with a transport chair with larger rear tires . had no difficulty pushing chair from the pier into the town and all around the shops and casino. the curbs had cut outs and the sidewalks were wide enough for the chair and other pedestrians. innlady1 Posted July 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2010 We did the ABC islands last year...and will do them again this winter...and I found them very easy with my TravelScoot. I have back problems and need hip replacement surgery, so bought a TravelScoot before the cruise...haven't used it since but on port intensive cruises, it was a godsend. The TravelScoot was well-worth the investment.
