$5 Casino Match Certificate with Classic Drinks? Do They Still Do This?

It's been 8 months or so since our last cruise, and I'm wondering if the promotion still exists in which you order a Carnival Classic cocktail (or whatever they changed that name to) and you can take your receipt to the casino for a $5 match play card. This made evening cocktails very affordable for us, and I'm hoping they still offer this deal!

Just got off the Elation and I can confirm this promotion is still alive. The drink menus on the ship had a separate section listing the classic cocktails. I think there are 6 of them.

Classic cocktails I can remember: Margarita, Mojito, Long Island Iced Tea, Sex on the Beach.

You take your receipt for the drink to the casino cage and exchange it for a $5 match play card. You can get multiple cards per receipt if you ordered more than one drink. No limit to number of cards from what I saw.

I used them for blackjack and the dealer takes the card after you play it. It has to be used for an "even money" bet. I'm not sure how it pays if you get a blackjack since that is not an even money payout . . .

Don't you just love all those Girl Scout rules.

Groan...do you have any idea how difficult it was to be on a ship and not have a cocktail??? The kids were busy with Club O2 the whole time. I was fending for myself. It was very tempting, I tell ya...

This is my kind of promotion. I like Long Island Iced Teas and gambling. Wife likes Sex on the Beach.

So say I have 7 of these drinks in a day. Besides being drunk, I can also take them to the casino and get 7 match play coupons? Good deal!

Yes, and you can also have them all on one receipt and still get one per drink. It's such a great deal, I'm thrilled they still have it. No need to smuggle when I can basically get $5 long island iced teas - MUCH cheaper than the bars at home! DH likes to play blackjack, so it works out great.

It depends how you look at it as it's matched play or doubles your bet, not a "free" bet.

If you're playing $5 game of blackjack, it only doubles your bet to $10. If you lose, there's zero savings, although you have the memory and/or experience. If you would normally bet $10 on a $5 table, I somewhat understand the mindset of saving...

On your S&S, five of these drinks will put $53 plus $25 in betting...
