Hi Everyone,

I am sailing on the Grand on the 21st August. I am hoping to get the train from Livorno to Castiglioncello beaches. Has anyone done this before? Are the trains fairly easy to use?

Many thanks

Stacey

Yes we have done the train several times. There is a port shuttle bus that take you the main street. Turn right and follow the beach. The station is about a 10 to 15 walk. There is a ticket that cost less that also includes both train and buses and the subway. Just check the schedule to make sure of the return train. We had problems last year because there was a strike. Had to taken Princess bus and it costed us about $200 more to get to Rome. Also they are different train stations about Rome make sure that the one you use for the return goes to Livorno.

Be very careful using buses becauses of pickpockets. Also watch the little kids they are very good picking pockets.

Have fun.
