marinemomx2 Posted July 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2010 We are leaving on the Disney Wonder September 9th, this is our first Disney cruise and our grandson's first cruise ever...What time will they you boardn the ship and what is the best time to get to the port? Thanks for your help!!
calmpets Posted July 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Usually boarding starts around noon. The order you board in is determined by the boarding number you are given at check in, so the earlier you check in the earlier you'll get to board. CaseyJr Posted July 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2010 You can start checking in at 10 am. Before you board, you can also complete the registration for kids club, receive your pager and his wristband. Mickey and Minnie are usually available for photos. Expect to wait an hour to board the ship so you might want to pack a handheld video game, cards or something to do while waiting.

james'mommy Posted July 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2010 We'll be on the same cuise as you. We're driving overnight from NC. We plan on getting to the ship as soon as they allow you to check in. We're hoping to maybe upgrade at the port so the sooner you get there the better the change of upgrade. Travalerie Posted July 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2010 Are the rooms ready when you board? I know HAL lets you on but the rooms are usually not ready until 1 or 2.
truck1 Posted July 23, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Pretty much the same as HAL. You can board somewhere between 1130 and 1, but the rooms are usually not ready until 1 or 130.I dont remember which off hand.

kath00 Posted July 24, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Do they let suite passengers board earlier? Thanks! Katherine
truck1 Posted July 25, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Rooms are ready at 1:30 pm. Thank you. I knew it was in that time frame. The boarding time I know can vary, but they are pretty good on keeping it the same. Do they let suite passengers board earlier? Thanks! Katherine I think so. If Im not mistaken,suite/concierge guest get boarding numbers 1-3 or 1-2 and will board first.I dont remember those numbers ever being called, so you may be able to board almost at will. OneParticularHarbour 71 Posted July 25, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Do they let suite passengers board earlier? Thanks! Katherine Suites automatically get a #1 boarding pass, so you will be in the first group to board. If you arrive after boarding has started, they escort you ahead of the current boarding group to board immediately.
kath00 Posted July 25, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Thank you. One more Suite question -- is there a separate line at check in? Just wondering since I'll be with my elderly mom who doesn't do well in crowded places for hours. Thanks, Katherine
OneParticularHarbour 71 Posted July 27, 2010 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2010 Yes, there is a separate check in line as well as a separate waiting area.
