LCW Posted July 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2010 Trying to decide between the two. Also, would like to know if it's possible to do Merida if you only have about 3-4 hours to get there and back to the ship. (We're on Carnival, in port 0700-1600) Both tours are around 4 hrs. Any advice/suggestions are appreciated
hdawson Posted July 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2010 You defintely don't need a tour/excursion to explore Merida. Local, modern bus service ROUND TRIP is only $3.00 and well worth doing. There are a number of trip reports right on this page and subsepuent pages. Don't forget to explore http://www.yucatantoday.com
WilliamLawson Posted July 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Xcambo = small ruins site. Dzemul's only claim to fame is that it is the present governors home town. Nothing special in Dzemul.

Don't forget to explore www.yucatantoday.com Understand, but if we do a trip to the ruins with the ship, we won't have time to take the bus round trip and get back before the ship leaves. So we have a choice of picking one or the other, or finding a private tour that will do both (Since Carnival doesn't offer a tour that does both)
WilliamLawson Posted July 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Read my post on your other post(s). You. Will. Not. Have enough time. I have done this with folks and there is simply not enough time to do both, other than a superficial pass through on one or the other or both depending on the ships departure time.
