Transportation and hotel question

What is the best option for transportation from LAX to the Carnival Long Beach Terminal with an overnight hotel stay? Long Beach is new to me as we have always left out of Miami before. We don't need anything fancy for a hotel, just a place to sleep overnight. Thanks in advance for the help!!
