RuthlessBoss Posted June 20, 2012 #476 Share Posted June 20, 2012 From what I have seen this is a normal handicap balcony cabin, but there is not a lot of information about the HC rooms. I googled for info, it was still scant. Did find a site showing different parts of the cabin. I gathered they are the same. The only thing I can think of about that large price increase is location. I read this earlier today, I think it said there were 42 cabins.
terriberri268 Posted June 20, 2012 #477 Share Posted June 20, 2012 14048, bed is by the door: 14063, bed is by the balcony: 12164 has the bed by the balcony, but the balcony next to you sticks out fairly far and will allow your neighbors to have a clear view of your balcony. Thank you! I won't look if they don't!

sdmike Posted June 21, 2012 #482 Share Posted June 21, 2012 Hey folks. While Sgt Superman has been more than helpful in this post, much of this information is easily available to you. Here is information on "uncovered" rooms on the Epic: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1523109 Here is information on "hull balcony" rooms on the Epic: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1522322 Here are some Epic deck plans where you can drag one deck over the other to see how things align, whether your balcony is uncovered, what's over and under you, etc. The bed will be where the room "bulges out" in the wave pattern (the widest part of the room). It's easy to see whether your bed is by the door or balcony. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/dragit2.php?ship=Norwegian%20Epic Here are a couple of really big pictures you can use to see where your room is. The level directly above the life boats is deck 8. The top row of balconies is deck 14. You can also do a google image search on Norwegian Epic and find lots of pictures that you can use to hone in on your cabin: http://images19.fotki.com/v677/filezyuA/fba56/7/649277/8941200/1389.jpg http://images16.fotki.com/v272/fileKTKu/fba56/7/649277/8941200/1390.jpg http://images15.fotki.com/v223/file4TEP/fba56/7/649277/8941200/1412.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4130/5163443315_c61c958c5a_o.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pkKVP44UYvw/TJmKI_kAutI/AAAAAAAAAH4/U_KsuJG_i1A/s1600/IMG_1336.JPG http://images50.fotki.com/v1523/filevXtJ/fba56/7/649277/8941200/1449.jpg http://images53.fotki.com/v138/file27kG/fba56/7/649277/8941200/1466.jpg http://www.gerardosculinary.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Norwegian-Epic.jpg
RuthlessBoss Posted June 21, 2012 #483 Share Posted June 21, 2012 I found my cabin by scrolling thru previous posted pics. But with links just provided, how do you get the cabin numbers to pop up?
RuthlessBoss Posted June 21, 2012 #484 Share Posted June 21, 2012 I see people want to know bed placement. If my assumption is right, go to drag it decks, if there's a triangle on the room, the bed is by the window. If it's by the door there's a + sign. There are plenty of rooms where this does not hold true. The triangle simply show what rooms can have a third person and the plus shows a room that accommodates four. I guessed what I did because the triangle was on each cabin with a wider curve at the end. So, each cabin with a + holds 4, that's a potential of being surrounded by 8 people, right? Every cabin has the ability to hold three because of the sofa. If you look on the deck plans there are many areas where there are rows and rows of just triangles with no + anywhere. kerrytens Posted July 4, 2012 #490 Share Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) I see people want to know bed placement. If my assumption is right, go to drag it decks, if there's a triangle on the room, the bed is by the window. If it's by the door there's a + sign. The bed placement is pretty easy actually. Each room has a straight wall - it is the opposite wall that will tell you where the bed is located. Look at the wave on the opposite wall. Where the wave goes 'into' the room (making it the narrowest point), that is the placement of the couch. Once you remember that trick, it is easy:D Edited July 4, 2012 by kerrytens
oliveoilrunning Posted July 4, 2012 #491 Share Posted July 4, 2012 I just upgraded to 10004 (large covered balcony) from a small uncovered balcony on the 9th floor deck. Does anyone have any pictures of that cabin, or pics of the boat from the outside showing it? Thanks so much!!!
david_sobe Posted July 4, 2012 #492 Share Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) Congrats for the upgrade!!! Call me crazy but am I the only one that would prefer not to have a covered balcony? I know sometimes the sun could be a problem. But during mornings, evenings and esp at night would enhance visibility. I love to look at the stars at night on a cruise. But the roof on the balcony prevents you from seeing so much. I have always had covered balconies but I think having an open ledge to the sea would be the best thing ever. ColinIllinois Posted July 5, 2012 #497 Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hope somebody can answer my post before next week!!newlu Not that hard to figure out really. Just look where your room is on the deck plans and then look at an Epic pic. I checked for you and you have a very nice large balcony room with another large balcony above you. No hull or anything to worry about. Have fun.
