Emaldy24 Posted July 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2010 I'm in between booking a 7 day cruise on the Eclipse or the NCL Pearl. My daughter is 10 years old and although I heard the food is great on Celebrity don't know much about the kids program but there are no kid stuff like on the other cruises rock wall, waterslides, etc. My preference is Celebrity but don't want my daughter not to have a good time. junglejane Posted July 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2010 You might also want to ask this question on the Family board. I think that Celebrity has an excellent kids program with the usual activities of scavenger hunts, karaoke, crafts, talent shows, games, etc. But you know your own daughter. Does she need a rock climbing wall and/or a water slide to have a good time? At some point (maybe age 10, maybe 11), a lot of kids feel too cool or too mature for the kids program, but they aren't yet old enough for the teen program. This might or might not be an issue for your daughter. My own feeling is that we take our kids to theme parks for other vacations, and don't need that stuff on a cruise. JesMil Posted July 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Hi there. We are booked on Equinox in December. We will be taking our 7 year old and 10 year old children. They LOVE the Celebrity programs. We have done HAL and Carnival with the kids. We have also done the Summit and Millennium with our kids, it was great. The only difference between the other cruise lines and Celebrity, is Celebrity charges to keep the kids during certain lunch hours (if parents on a shore excursion). That is kind of a drag. I think your 10 year old will have a blast on Celebrity, and I think the adults will really enjoy Celebrity.
Emaldy24 Posted July 26, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Thank you both very much for your insight into the kid's program on Celebrity. My daughter is really easy going she says she doesn't care as long as there is a good kid's program where she'll have fun. I'm more worried than she is just what her to have a great time and I want us to have a good time. It is our first Thanksgiving away from home so I just want it to be enjoyable for all of us. Thanks again for your help!:o
The_Big_M Posted July 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2010 My experience is the children in the program enjoy the program. As mentioned, it may not be for all children, but they have a wide range of activities, good space and counsellors, and are interested in the children. I doubt you'd have any problems.
