Top Ten on Elation

We had a balcony (U84) -- you will love it!! Get room service coffee and danish and enjoy a private breakfast one morning! A must do is snorkeling - or diving - in Belize. It is beautiful and was the kid's favorite thing when we asked what they liked best. We are considering a trip to Belize without the kids so we can do "real" diving.

I was also wondering what fun things there are to do on the Elation. This is my husband and I's first cruise and we are excited. Having breakfast on the balcony sounds wonderful!! I can't wait.

Brymic what group did you go snorkeling with in Belize? I want to try it but by my husband isn't sure since it will be our first time. Do you have any first timers in your boat and did they have fun?

We booked it through Carnival - the Sargeant's Caye trip. Since it was our first cruise we wanted to be on the safe side and didn't book anything on our own. It was a shorter trip since the kids were 1st timers- so that might be a good choice for you. My DH has the group's business card so I can let you know later when he gets home if you are interested. I think most in our group had snorkeled before - except for the kids. My kids are good swimmers, had used masks in the pool, but never in the ocean. They did great! You are provided with a flotation vest and all equipment. Your DH will be hooked. We saw so much sea life- including a huge (think king-size bed) sting ray!

We did get crazy in Cozumel and go to Paradise Beach alone- that was a lot of fun too. Shop in Progresso- the prices seem the best there, and it is not so crowded. In Coz everyone has their hands out and are quite pushy. Feel free to email if you have more ?? (brymic@sbcglobal.net)

Keep in mind, the only balconies on Elation, are suites..But well worth it.

Have my parents booked in Sept U??They paid, dearly however..about 1700 pp.

Not really a bad price for a suite...but pricey non the less.

My fav thing about Elation is the water slid (really wears the kids out) :)

:) Hello All

This will be a first cruise for our family.

We sail September 4th. Going all out !!! The Balcony.:D

I was wondering what would be the "Top Ten" must do's on the Elation cruise.

Here are a few things to do.

1. Breakfast room service

2. Any sunset

3. Any contest on the Lido deck, ei: Almost newly wed game, hairiest chest contest, etc.

4. Spa facial, DW loved it

5. Sun bathing on the aft deck, quiet and less crowded plus there are two hot tubes which are usually not very full

6. Afternoon Tea, DW loved this also

7. Pizza - to die for anytime of the day

8. Mid-night buffet

9. Kareoke

10. Arriving in port

Click on Photos in my signature and see what we did last year.

All , thankyou for each of your imput. This board has been a great help.

[Cruisin Dave] The pictures are wonderful!! Thanks for the top ten.

I think I will follow that Great advise!!!

Except for #9 Karoke. I am very shy.

#8 Just wondering what is serve on a midnight buffet?

Can I have lobster dinner everynight ?:D

[ brn2crz] My son will love the water slide:) Maybe I'll see your parents

[brymic] I have never been snorkling and can't wait too. In fact we bought all our equipment lastweekend. We are all good swimmers so should not have a problem. Had'nt heard of Sargeant's Caye. Are they reasonably priced and

do they pick you up and drop you off at port ?

From reading the boards I've narrowed trips at port down to.

1. Progresso -Take tour thur Carnival for the ruins and shop if time alloted.

2. Cozumel - Snorkle by boat tour

3. Belize - Cave tubing. Still thinking on this.

Be sure you have a back-up plan for Belize. The cave tubing has a tendency to cancel because of flooding. If there has been a storm thru the area then the cave will be flooded.

We went to the ruins in Progreso. Dzibilchetun and then to the Mexican Rodeo. Then cost of the excursion encluded a buffet lunch. Food was great and you receive coupons for drinks, ie: cervesa, soft drinks. Not to many private tours in the area yet.

Cozumel, there are so many things to do just take your pick.
