Walk-on/off Bags on Ecstasy?

We're cruising on the Ecstasy this Saturday (2/12) and wondered if we should just walk our bags on and off. Our cabin is on the Empress deck and I wondered if there's lots of steps getting up to the deck - in the terminal, etc. Also, are they using the x-ray machine with the 11X17 hole in the front? We probably will NOT have a problem getting the bags off the ship since we should just walk out on the Empress deck, but I'm also wondering about getting on with lots of big bags. I'll probably have 1 medium-size and 1 small roll-on. My husband will probably have a hard-sided roll-on, a garment bag and a carryon.

Lucy, there's no way you could carry large bags ONTO the ship. Every carry-on MUST be able to go thru the 11x17 opening in the x-ray machine - no exceptions. Looks like you'll have to check them.

 

However, getting OFF would be no problem IF you are able to carry ALL your luggage off - you could get "self-assist" early debarkation.
