kiltyjock Posted July 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2010 Hi we are cruising on the Ventura next summer in the Med and wondered if anyone wears their kilt on formal nights. I would like to , but the thought of the extra luggage is always a drawback. Thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks KJ

toda Posted July 30, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2010 Would it really matter if the kilt wearers weren't Scottish?

EOS-User Posted July 30, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 30, 2010 Would it really matter if the kilt wearers weren't Scottish? In addition to 'traditional' Scottish kilts; there are certainly Irish & Welsh kilts, and I'm sure that 'Celtic' kilts stretch to areas of Europe as well... Apart from that, Scotland has been succesful in selling 'tartans' to anybody who cares to pay-out for a 'family' design!
louhun88 Posted July 30, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 30, 2010 How true! Must admit it is nice to see people wearing their family tartan!
lynbee Posted August 1, 2010 #13 Share Posted August 1, 2010 We were on Ventura last year to Norway. I saw more kilts that week on the formal nights than I saw in my 5 day trip to Scotland earlier that year!

caber Posted August 6, 2010 #16 Share Posted August 6, 2010 I only ever seem to see them at weddings nowadays! or Scotland football games :D Or Burns Suppers.:) Anyone can wear the kilt. Our last cruise was a Princess one with mainly American passengers. Our husbands, decked in their kilts, were the centre of attention on formal nights. They were the most photographed people onboard.:D
