Susan-M Posted July 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2010 For on-line research I find Frommer's Destinations helpful. If you go through the index on the left side of the page, you'll find lots of useful info. For a guidebook in this area, we liked Rick Steves' Provence and the French Riviera. Hambagahle Posted August 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Monaco is tiny. And has good bus service. The principal sights are: on the "rock" (hill) the Palace, cathedral and the Oceanographic museum. The latter, in my opinion, is not worth visiting if you are used to aquaria like Monterey or Baltimore! In the town the Casino - its buildings and gardens - are superb, and the botanical garden is well worth it if you like flowers etc. Monaco is also steep. It rises dramatically from the sea but if you want to get somewhere "up high" there are all sorts of elevators to take you up and down.
