train to rome

Hi: Does anyone know where to find the train stops between Civitavecchia and Roma Termini. We are looking to get off at Roma Ostinense for the Colosseum and return from St Pietre to the ship. Do the local and express trains stop at both of these stations

Thanks

Dave

If you go to the Trenitalia web site (www.trenitalia.com), you can bring up specific trains and see the list of stops, but it's not intuitive.

The regional trains will stop at both San Pietro and Ostiense. The IC trains will stop at Ostiense, but not San Pietro. Remember, if you are using a BIRG ticket, they are only good on the regional trains.

First, pick a date next week, don't worry about the specific date you'll be traveling. If you'll be there on a Wednesday, put in Wednesday of next week.

When the list comes up, all the way to the right there will be a column entitled "select". Click on the button in that column for the train you are interested in, then scroll down and click on "details by selection".

Next, click the "info" button for this train and scroll down, the full list of stops and times will be revealed.

Thank you, that was perfect! We are taking a cab from Piazza Novana to Roma S.Pietro to catch the train at 4:28pm to return to the ship. Is 30 minutes enough time for the cab ride

Thanks again

Dave

A half hour is fine - it's only a couple of miles from Piazza Navona to the San Pietro train station.

I don't know where the taxi stand is (or are) around Navona; maybe someone who has taken one from there can tell us.

Thanks! At the far end of the Piazza is a taxi stand, so that won't be a problem.I think you have made our trip easy and doable. Everyone on here has been extremely helpful in insuring we will hve a wonderful day.

Have you heard anything on the opening of Underground Colosseum which I have read is only by a guided tour. We will be there in November when it should be open to the public.
