Thinking about taking the Sensation. Just off the Miracle....pool looks bigger on Sensation. Is this true??

Miracle seemed extra quiet. How does she(Sensation) ride.....my room will be aft is it very noisy. I didn't even hear us getting or leaving port on Miracle.

Honestly...I remember seeing her in Port and thinking she is one ugly ship with those balconies. But that is exacty where I will be:rolleyes: Hey I won't be looking at her....I'll be looking at the beautiful ocean.

Thanks

Kerri

We were on Sensation in 2003 and loved it. We were lucky and got upgraded to a suite on the main deck. The ride was fine and we had great weather. Any ship can have a bit of motion if seas are rough.

Also I'm sure Sensation has been in dry dock and updated since 2003.

Not as big of a ship as Miracle but a very nice ship.

I have sailed on the Sensation twice this year, and loved it both times!

First cruise was in February...cold and rainy and not great for laying out by the pool. Enjoyed the adult-only area - Serenity- even though we were out there in jackets and blankets! The water was choppy enough to be interesting, but not so much as to make everyone sick. Our day in Nassau was warm and sunny, so that was a plus.

Went back in June, and it was great again. The pool area is nice, never had a problem finding a chair out by the pool. It is also nice to be closer to the stage as it is a bit quieter to just lay out and read. Food was good both times, and we did the MyTime Dining.

Since this is a short cruise, we did not want to be tied to a specific time to eat. We dressed for dinner, but it was more of a casual dressy. Guys were mostly in shirt and tie - no jacket, and women in a nice dress or pant with a nice top. Of course, some were dressed to the nines and some were the same slobs they usually were...but for the most part, everyone fell somewhere comfortably in the middle.

We enjoyed the new Comedy shows, and the Casino paid out well - although it tended to get a bit smoky in the middle of the room.

Can't really say anything about your aft balcony as we generally opt for inside rooms on these short cruises - both for the value and for the nice dark rooms which are so condisive to lots of sleep and R&R...which is what we look forward to on these short cruises.

Living only an hour and a half from the port makes this weekend cruise very easy for us to do. I am sure I will sail her at least twice again next year! I don't think you will be disappointed with this ship.

Been on the Sensation twice now, most recently back in November 2009. Very nice "older ship". We had an OV on Riviera Deck towards the aft end. Not much vibration, a little when we were pulling in/out of port. Not bad. Check out the YouTube video of our cruise....she did have an overhaul in earyl 2009 that added a bunch of stuff, including Water Works slides, etc. Also added, Serenity Area on the very aft of the ship, the Adults Only pool area, actually, no pools, just hot tubs. All in all, pretty nice cruise...I would recommend the ship.

Have to agree with all of the above (even down to the "living only an hour and a half from port" oddly enough :p ), though I will say that the balconies on Sensation (and the other Fantasy class ships, I think) are much smaller than those on the bigger ships.

The new Waterworks area and Serenity area are both outstanding, great places to spend time. The main pool area is really nice looking since the Evolutions of Fun upgrade. The comedy shows were great, and they have my favorite Carnival stage show, Far From Over, on this ship - an '80's music review. Some of the interior decoration is very purple, glitzy-Vegas style, but I like it.

I was on just a few months ago in April, and had great waiters, bartenders, and cabin steward. I'd go on the Sensation every month for a nice long weekend if the budget would allow. :D

Based on my cruise in March:

The pool is really large, but it's divided into two. We had an aft balcony and there was no noise except for crew members working I think, as there was a loud drilling noise? Anyway, shes a great ship and you'll love her. :D

The pool is really large? We were on the Sensation in June 2010 and the only downside to us was the teeny tiny pool! It was literally the size of a giant bath tub. We were so looking to relaxing by the pool and hopping in and out when it got too hot on deck, didn't happen, it was packed with people the entire time.
