marcmarc2 Posted August 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Going on Voyager of the Seas solo again in late January. I enjoyed the ship so much last March that I wanted to go on her one more time before she leaves Galveston. This time around, I made sure to specifically request sitting at a large table *with other solos*. Anyone find out if that actually works on RCCL? Between a little fate and a little tweaking, my past solo cruises have had some lovely and welcoming tablemates, both times including families. This time around, I plan to skip the first trivia of the day in favor of spending more time in the fitness center. I made a lot of friends at trivia and didn't want to let them down, but most days I felt rushed to leave a perfectly wonderful whirlpool. This time around, I'll book at least one shore excursion prior to boarding. I thought once I got aboard I would book, but I procrastinated - the pull of the ship was too strong when I had no onshore plans. This time around, as much as I enjoy snorkeling, I may try a semi-submersible excursion. This time around, I know I don't have to drop my luggage off at the pier, then park. I still don't know why I did that. :o
BonnieVA Posted August 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Good for you! I'm going on my 3rd solo this Oct. This time around... - I'm bringing formal clothes & going to formal nights. - I'm doing open seating since it's finally available. - I'm going to hunt for CCers to go on private excursions with me instead of just walking around the ports. I'll think of more later :D.
