baldcruiser Posted August 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Is there any security issue or problem with bringing a cork screw on board with the wine that is allowed?
*Mach* Posted August 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2010 No problem at all. Consider that you're given steak knives at dinner... :) A corkscrew isn't an issue... :)
bankerbabe Posted August 5, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2010 The only problem I've ever had with a corkscrew was . . . . forgetting to put it in my luggage :( The times I did manage to remember it, no problems with security. But I did put it in my checked bag, just in case.

He or she will be glad to get one for you. :)

truchattycathy Posted August 5, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Well, or do the unthinkable and bring wine with a screw off lid. :D
bankerbabe Posted August 5, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Well, or do the unthinkable and bring wine with a screw off lid. :D Some of them with the screw-off lids aren't that bad.
ksoze Posted August 5, 2010 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Some of them with the screw-off lids aren't that bad. In fact, many are better than their corked peers. For instance, many of the better and more expensive Australian Syraz's are screw top, which are less prone to issues when opening and oxidation. The days of judging a wine as inferior because it lacks a cork are long gone. After all, if Ripple had a cork, it would still be bad.
elcuchio24 Posted August 5, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 5, 2010 No problems, but you can always get one from your steward or a bartender if you forget it.
tandemcruzr Posted August 5, 2010 #11 Share Posted August 5, 2010 And if you order wine through Bon Voyage, it comes with a cork screw.
hunneebee Posted August 6, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 6, 2010 I've had some good French and Italian wines lately with screw tops. But we always put a corkscrew in the checked bag.
