How do u know what zone u are prior to boarding the ship?

Hi there!

Once you go through the check in process, the Carnival agent will let you know which zone you are in. They reserve the first zones for weddings and VIP and then assign zones for boarding order after that.

I assume you're referring to the "boarding zones". You'll be given your "zone number" when you check in. You'll present your paperwork ie: fun pass, passport, and credit card. In return you'll get your zone number, and your "Sign-&-Sail" card.

Yes, that is correct. After wedding parties and VIP zones go in order based on your arrival. :)

keep in mind they are calling a number about every 5 mins. so sometimes being early causes you to be in the huge crowd. sometimes waiting has cleared that and you get right thru the system.

For all of the cruises we've been on, it's been random for debarking.

No...Zones aren't associated by decks. Self assist and VIP are first off. Depending on your flight time, will determine what zone you get...same if you've driven to port, you'll probably be given a higher number.

It also depends if you've booked a post cruise excursion with transfer to the airport in which case you take your own luggage off as self assist after meeting in the designated area.
