Balcony divider take down???

We are going on SOS in October with my SIL in the next door, adjoining balcony room. Will they take down the divider on the balcony????

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that the balcony dividers on the Radiance class ships, to which Serenade belongs, are unable to be opened.

I don't know about the SOS, but last year on Caribbean Princess we were able to open a door between balconies and we could walk freely between balconies. Unfortunately, the door was not the width of the entire balcony so we ended up sitting on one side or the other.

Unlike most Princess, Holland America, and Carnival ships, which have hinged partitions on the balcony dividers that can be swung and latched open, I believe most Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ships don't feature the same option. Our balcony on Celebrity Summit certainly didn't, and I can't recall seeing them on Mariner of the Seas either...

The balcony dividers can't be opened on the Sovereign, Vision, or Radiance class or Voyager, Adventure, or Explorer. On Mariner and Navigator it is possible to open them but they usually don't allow it. On Freedom class and I assume Oasis the dividers can be opened.

Just off Mariner (end of June) BIL and SIL is next room. We asked and were told no.

The choice belongs to the Master of the vessel. Some do not allow the dividers to be opened. Some do.

Just off the Grandeur, a Vision class ship that had a open balcony divider in my aft cabin. They gladly closed it.
