Passport Question -- Anybody know??

My new passport book came in the mail today. I thought the old one was supposed to be returned stamped void.

 

Anybody know whether it is usually returned with the new one or mailed separately?

It's mailed separately. My husband just got a new passport a couple months ago and his old one arrived a week or two later.

Yep - definately seperately, just got my application in before the recent price increase

Separately. You'll have it in less than two weeks.

We all got new ones in May and my husband who already had an expired one received his in the same envelope with the new one however our birth certificates came back a week later.

They punch the covers. I got mine back with-in a week also.

 

It's nice to have them as a souvenir. If only mine had more stamps! DS had added pages to his a couple of years ago and still only had 4 pages free when he renewed his this year because of all the stamps and visas. He ordered his new one with extra pages to start. Mine only had a couple of stamps and one visa. I need to travel more!
