Where do cruise ships dock in halifax? Also, is there another way to see Peggy's Cove other than through a shore excursion? Is there any kind of public transportation available to that destination?

We docked at the Cruise terminal. We rented a car from Avis. They picked me up at the terminal and dropped me back at the end of the day. We drove to Peggy's Cove.

There are always vans at the pier to share for a beautiful ride to Peggy's Cove!

and Halifax is a very walkable city. I have only driven to Peggy's cove with a rental car so have no idea of tours but I am sure that a post on the Canada thread will spin up all kinds of answers for you.

There isn't any public transportation that I'm aware of (I'm from NS). Peggy's Cove is a bit remote...rent a car and you'll do great and save money for sure. There's nothing "historic" about Peggy's Cove - just very scenic so you don't need a tour to do that and you'll be able to enjoy the drive at your leisure. Please adhere to the signs that say "Don't get too close to the edge" or something like that...they're there for a reason! It seems like every couple of years someone falls in and see ya later!
