vaskohop Posted February 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2005 All I own is a sport coat. Will that suffice for the formal nights on the Carnival Glory?
jcruise67 Posted February 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Absolutely. Most men wear dark suits on Carnival fun ships. You will see more suits than tuxedos in the formal dining room. I'm a tux man myself for the two formal nights. i just change my coat to a white dinner jacket on the second formal night. John

kitty9 Posted February 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Don't forget the dress shirt, dress slacks and tie for formal nights, but the jacket will be fine.
okron Posted March 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2005 What about kids....do they attend? Do they dress up for formal nights? We have 14 and 18yr old boys....? Ron
familycruzer Posted March 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2005 I would at least put your kids in a sport coat. At that age, they should be old enough to dress the part on formal nights.
kitty9 Posted March 7, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Ron, I think a cruise is a great time to teach kids about the differences in social gatherings and appropriate clothing. Your 18 year old is an adult and should be in a suit, or at the very miminum a sport coat with dress shirt/slacks and tie. Your younger son should wear the same thing. You'll be surprised by how much they will want to look the part when they see all the others dressed to the nines.
jcruise67 Posted March 8, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2005 A cruise is also a great opportunity to teach your kids about ettiqette (Sp.) and the many different cultures of the islands and cruise line staff and other pax. I think the cultural diversity is what makes a cruise interesting as well. John
trish1c Posted March 10, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2005 You can rent a tux on board if you want. There will be info available when you board. If you are going to do this, do it right away. Enjoy.
zprincess Posted March 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2005 Are there tuxedo rentals for younger boys? I am interested in renting for my 12 y/o son, as well as my 17 y/o and husband for the Diamond Princess 5/28/05.
