You can take the water taxi from near the Nassau pier by Senior Frog's (about $6.00 per person) and then its a 5/10 minute walk to the Atlantis hotel. You can wander around in there for free . . . . there is an area where you can view stingrays, etc. but its tricky to find. If you are up for a little more walking, there is a pathway near the Sheraton Hotel on the east side of Atlantis that leads to Cabbage Beach (which is actually shaded in the afternoon!). From there, you can wander all the way to the beach in front of Atlantis. You'll pass some jet ski rentals and parasailing. Pack water, some lunch and towels and you can have a fantastic day without spending much at all!

The dig itself is $29.00 and you can choose to take a guide tour or do a self-tour. We did the self-tour and it took about 45 minutes. Be careful though. We initially thought we were done and were a little upset since we thought it was short tour, however we saw an information lady (they are everywhere) and she directed us to the "2nd" area. After a long, but beautiful walk through the grounds we came to the second area. For $29.00 you can tour all of the dig, but cannot use any of the beaches or slides.

We took a cab from their pier and it was $4.00 per person. On our way back cab driver wanted $20.00 to bringg four back, but we offered $15.00 and he took it.

We were much happier than the taking the ships tour plus we got to tour at our convenience.
