Rhine, Main and Moselle River Levels

We're sailing AMA's Amacello, Nuremberg to Trier, embarking 8/30/10. Has anyone recently sailed the Rhine, Main-Danube Canal, and Moselle? I tried to Google river levels, but couldn't find a current article. Many thanks.

Here you´ll find the river levels of all German rivers. But the website is in German. Actually you won´t have any high water conditions. It looks like the Moselle river is more on the low water side.

We did the Rhine/Moselle Rivers last month and it was wonderful!!! Hope you and Carol have a great time. We booked AMA for September 2011 for Russia -- St. Petersburg to Moscow. Happy cruising!!

Thanks, Sheila! L'Shana Tovah in advance. Now just trying to figure out how we're getting to the Nuremberg port from the airport, which according to AMA, is about 40 miles!

Hi Mike35, first I want to say I am glad that it appears that all river levels are good for your trip! It is always nice not to have to worry about such things!

 

You mentioned just now that the pier in Nuremberg is 40 miles from the airport. May be a silly question, but ,do you mean 40 miles from the Frankfurt airport? thanks.

The AMA brochure that came with my docs states, "In Nuremberg, the ship docks along the Main-Danube Canal, which is located outside the city center. The closest International airport is the Nuremberg Airport, approximately 40 miles from the port". AMA's office is closed on Sunday, so I'll give them a call in the morning to clarify this.

Why don't you ask AMA about pick up at the airport? They told us we can pay for the pickup at St. Petersburg airport and the return to the airport in Moscow.

AMA confirmed that they have included the transfer with the cost of the cruise. So no worries...
