A friend told us about the "on board free credit" of $250.00 for veterans. I sent my DD-214 and a copy of my military I.D. and sure enough it worked. We are sailing on April 4 on the Asian Cruise, Diamond Princess departing Beijing. We have a good pre-cruise deal with China Highlights....four nights at Sunworld Hotel and three days of tours...$378 each...if you know of other good excursions please advise...Mobilepals2

Mobilepals2 or anyone else in the know, Who did you call to verify this and where did you mail your military info?

Is this offer just for recent veterans? That is a nice OBC. I hope you enjoy your Asian cruise.

Does the credit depend on the catagory cabin that you choose? Our credit was only 100.00

Can you get free playing cards from the pursers desk like you can Carnival?

Any tips on "don't miss" things?

The last cruise we were on in October on the Carribean princess they told us no, and to go to the casino and purchase the used ones. I think they were a $1 or 2

Thanks for posting this here. Because of this, we have applied for a $100 OBC. This Board has been a wonderful source for me, and I have gotten great ideas, and now, thanks to you, $100 in OBC!

It is for all vets - DH served in VietNam-if you have a TA they should know- I first saw it on Princess website news - just need a DD214 and picture ID. Depends on length of cruse, we got $250!

What is the secret to getting a table for two when you do traditional dining?

It never hurts to bring the Maitre 'd a bottle of your best local/regional wine on embarkation day when you are making a request for a table for two!

All the info on military OBC for all Princess Cruises can be found by going to your Cruise Personalizer, then clicking on FAQ, look for Military Program on the right side of the page. Click and you have all the info. It's a great program and I thank PRINCESS for all of the VETS out here....

Does it cost anything to get into the Sanctuary?

It costs money to take it for the whole cruise, which I never do. You can also pay it by the day or 1/2 day. Since we only use it on sea days, or if we're in Princess Cays, we take it for the afternoon. It's $10 for 1/2 day or $20 a full day. The cost for the cruise is dependent on how many days.

Thermal suites they will also rent by the day (not half day). It's $20 for the day. They will tell you the first day you can only take it for the whole cruise, but when they don't fill up, they will take your money later on.

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find it. How do you get above the bridge during sailaway? I watch the sailaway presentation on the Port Everglades Webcam during the weekend and on all Princess ships, there are only a few dozen people up there. How (and where) do you find this secret passage?

Does the International Cafe have hot tea available for free without using a coffee card punch? What about just a pot of hot water? What other drinks can one get at the IC for free or for pay?

The International sells tea, brewed coffee, fancy coffee drinks and alcohol beverages.

When you buy the "coffee card" you get 15 punches for fancy coffees. In addition to the "Punch" coffees you are entitled to unlimited tea and brewed coffee with the card. We always leave one punch on our card so we can continue to have a decient cup of tea or coffee.

BTW The cards are good on all ships, so if you have punches left over, take the card on you next cruise.
