koalagurl Posted August 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2010 We have to travel to the UK for a wedding summer of 2011, so naturally we thought it best to add a cruise to the trip! We prefer a 7 day itinerary, and it looks like a Med. cruise works best for timing, etc. We are cruisers who love being on the ship, but I would love to do a few port excursions. We aren't set on a cruise line yet, and wanted to see if there were any family friendly port excursions out there. Any advice would be wonderfully appreciated!! Thanks! Kerry's Girls Posted August 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2010 My twin 5 year olds loved every one of our Med ports. We did Athens, Izmir (Turkey), Cairo and Barcelona (also Malta, but it was our last port and the girls just wanted to stay on board in the kids club). I think pretty much anywhere in Europe has something fun for kids as long as you stay away from museums, don't try to see everything and carry lots of water and snacks. We also did private tours or hired our own cab in each port, so we could go at our own pace and see only what we wanted to see. We also did London when they were 2-1/2 - what a fantastic city for kids. Best, Mia
koalagurl Posted August 27, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted August 27, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I was pretty much thinking we might have to organize tours on our own, as I assume most ship tours would be geared more to a pace for adults.
