Taking a cruise with no money, questions?

Have a great cruise and good luck with your vehicle !!

Sharecruises and everyone else, thank you so much for your encouragement and advice! :D

This trip is for our 28th anniversary  and will just be a good time to chill and get away from the 20-somethings that run our house!!!

The van had a good life but it's sad to let it go! DH and I have to decide what to about replacing it. I really would like something substantial, like a SUV but we have an ecomony car budget.

Well figure it out and thanks again!

My 2 cents

Buy your disposable cameras before you leave.

Take an empty water bottle to fill up with water or whatever when in port.

Nothign to see in Freeport. Get off the ship, take a pic at the sign then get back on the ship.

In Nassau the water taxi is the way to go, for $3 you can't beat it. The aquarium in Atlantis is incredible.

The art auction has free champange.

Have a great trip.

Just a note-the Wyndham and Crystal Palace Casino will be closed til October 7th for renovations. The Sheraton is still open.

We were in Nassau last week on a cruise from 10 a.m. til 7:00 a.m. the next morning. We got off the ship, walked over to Bay St to this little shop that sells a certain kind of coozie (can holder) I like, bought two of them and got back on the ship. Spent a nice relaxing day lounging in the adult Serenity area, had a nice lunch and played minature golf. I love Nassau and have done many land vacations there but I mostly go for the beach and the casino.

Been to Freeport twice (but never on a cruise ship). I do know that they sometimes have lots of free activities going on at the Lucaya Marketplace.

We have a condo in Freeport so go every other year, here are some of my suggestions, the botanical garden is free although there will be cab fare, the straw market is the cheapest on any of the islands and you can go to the perfume factory and play around with making your own scent without committing to purchase. Also Port Lucayo Is wonderful to walk through there's a waterside pool that you can enjoy for the cost of a drink or a snack and if you're there in the evening there is always a free band playing at Count Basie Square. Along the beaches there are snack /beer shacks everywhere And everything is freshly cooked, delicious and CHEAP. Seriously, a rock lobster tail may cost you $5 US.

Many people "poo-poo" Grand Bahama Island (Freeport) but we love the laid back, no rush atmosphere. The waters are lovely and the beaches quiet. If you have your own snorkeling gear bring it along and page around in search of tropical fish at no cost. Bring a thermos and carry off some lemonade or water.

Best of all enjoy one of the less touristy islands!

All I wanted to add is you can do a cruise with no money spent. I have done this on my last 2 cruises. Matter of fact I put no money down on my sign and sail card. No one asked for it other than at the beginning when I knew I had nothing to use. I walked right past the place to put it on the card and onto the ship. It can be done.
