We were there in October. It’s lost a step since before Covid, but it’s still a great day. I’ve been to Nachi, Paradise Beach and Mr Sanchos. I prefer them in that order. I agree the frozen drinks are much weaker, but if you ask them to put in an extra shot I am sure they would.

Jsglow, is right. Going uptown is easier than downtown. Allot will also depend on how “sellable/desireable” your current cabin is.

We are a family of 4 and we’re on the Horizon last October. I enjoyed the ship, did not enjoy Jamaica and Grand Cayman. As you can see by my signature we are booked on the same ship and itinerary again. I am actually thinking of canceling the trip. Jamica we did the falls (not Duns River) and beach tour. The falls were nice the beach was way to far of a drive for a short time at the beach. 90 minute drive 60 minutes at beach. Do I think Jamica is safe for tourists, yes if you use your head. Stay in tourist areas. Stay in a group. I would recommend a ships tour as opposed to going off on your own. We did this cruise as I wanted the kids to swim with the stingrays in GC. Would I do this trip again, probably not. Would I sail the Horizon again, Yes. I am not against Jamica and would not tell you to avoid it. It is just not my favorite port. I’m a tad spoiled as I have been to multiple ports. Horizon is a good ship and you will enjoy it, Jamica and GC are a good place to visit at least once. You will enjoy yourself and should be safe. For me, it’s just not a place I would go to multiple times.

Big fan of Dooky Chase, the history there is incredible. For breakfast my choice is Ruby Slipper, second choice is Toast.

I just decided to wait til we got back. I didn’t want to risk it since I would have to send the documents in. I didn’t want to end up with nothing if there was a delay. I’ll just use their birth certificate this time and renew after the cruise

We purchased the same magnets and love them.

If I remember right there is an iron you can use for free in the laundry room on the ship. I have used it to freshen up a shirt before.

I just could not see spending the extra $$ for the expedited processing, especially x2. Thats’s half of what I will spend on tips for the kids. We can wait in a few lines if necessary, I will get them done before the next cruise in November

I’m sorry you did not have a good vacation. We all work to hard to spend our money on something we didn’t enjoy. However, this is the posters opinion and people shouldn’t bash them for sharing. This is what the boards are for. Some of my cruises have not been the best since Covid. I have enjoyed some more than others and try to find something on each I enjoy. Thank you for sharing and I hope your next trip goes better.

I went in three weeks ago to get our kids renewed. (Yes, I should have done it sooner). We sail the first of June. I was told not to even think about trying it without the expedited fee. Looks like the kids are sailing with birth certificates this time.

In Theory you should be ok. I would also look at the airline that you are flying. If you are on Delta there are multiple other flight options that may get you there, if you are flying Allegiant they may not have as many options for alternative flights. Are you checking your bags or doing carry ons? I would definitely make sure that you have travel insurance in case there is an issue. Enjoy your vacation.

One point that no one has mentioned is that there are so many more ships to choose from. With Carnival adding more ships there are that many more opportunities for people to increase their status. Random Thoughts: Is a free drink that much of a perk if you have the drink package or a free drinks Casino deal? I agree, that when you have 10 people that are Diamond it is easy to do something special. When there are 100 it is much more challenging. I like the idea of a free dinner in one of the specialty restaurants. Carnival can control when it accepts the reservation for crowd control. Cost is also minimal for Carnival. I like the idea of reduced cost or free internet. If reduced cost still a revenue generator and no additional cost to Carnival. I would offer free pictures. Ie 5x7 for Blue, 1 8x10 for Platinum, 2 for Diamond. Printing costs are minimal, while perceived value is high. Also if you get one photo you are likely to purchase more. With the interactive TV in each room you could offer perks here as well. Free pay per view movie based on level. Again, minimal cost and easy to control.
