Kcarp Posted August 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2010 We want to ship some things home before we cruise. My questions are to the people that have done this. What was your cost and experience? TIA
DAGVBSB Posted August 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2010 We stayed at the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber which is next to the International Marketplace. I believe the Outrigger is just across the street. Friends in our party decided to ship many things home as well. There is a US Post Office branch on the second floor of the International Marketplace and they went there and picked up those US Postal Service shipping boxes. They have two sizes. (I think the larger one was $15). It ships for the price no matter what the weight. (you may have seen the commercials: "if it fits, it ships.") They bought two of the larger boxes and shipped them home. They arrived about 3 days later at their home. (you can also get the boxes insured if needed.) If I ever need to ship anything home from someplace else in the US, I think that is what I will use. I also remember seeing a UPS store along the main street near the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber...on the opposite side of the street from the Beachcomber. CruisingGoddess Posted August 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2010 We will probably do this after the cruise. We'll be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village post-cruise and they have a Post Office in the hotel. We are staying at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach pre-cruise so this is good to know!
