There are several HoJo's in Tampa; at which one are you staying? Also, are you driving in or flying in & taking a cab to the hotel?

The Howard Johnson on Fortune St. A friend from Florida (but not Tampa) will drive us.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any liquor stores within walking distance of there. Closest I recall is on Kennedy, probably about 2 miles away (leave the hotel, turn south (right) on Ashley; take it a few blocks down to Kennedy, turn right; ABC Liquor store will be a mile or 2 down, on your right).

a suggestion - many of the grocery stores in Tampa have a liquor store attached and a decent wine selection inside. It may be easier to find one of those within walking distance of your hotel. Do a quick internet search for Publix, Albertsons, Sweet Bay, Winn Dixie and their website will tell you which locations have a liquor store attached.
