Six packs of beer?

They're OK, but personally, I wouldn't go to the trouble to bring them back, especially if you're flying post-cruise. May be available in cans but I've never seen them except in longnecks. Should be declared at US customs. And, FWIW, I think they're brewed in Curacao, not St. Maarten.

I agree. We toured the Amstel Plant in Curaco a few years back. Not a bad tour or brew but definitely not worth lugging back, especially as a souvenir

In phillipsburg, where is the best place to buy six packs of local beer (Amstel Brite) to take home with you after the cruise?

Check out customs regarding liquor. I believe customs limits the number of containers irrespective of size. One bottle (can) of beer is the same as a 1.5 liter bottle of rum. You need to be one major beer hound to make those numbers work!

A couple years ago I had a six-pack of Carib beer left at the end of our stay, so packed it in our luggage along with a few bottles of local rum. We made sure to declare it all on our customs form - had no issues at all with customs in Miami. Have never had any problems with customs - bringing in Guda cheese, rum, jewelry and lots of t-shirts! Except for the time we had a jar of mango jam - got re-routed through Agriculture and had a total re-check.

Oh, and the time I had a foil wrapped turkey sandwich from the SXM terminal that I still hadn't eaten by the time we hit Miami - of course we declared it. We really got the third degree from the Agriculture agents that time - but they never actually unwrapped it and finally said it was okay, being turkey instead of beef or pork. Almost missed our connection because of it! My wife still reminds me of that one!
