I may be very wrong here.....but I don't think a deep sea fishing trip would be on your agenda during your limited times in port during a cruise. These excursions are very common while staying at land-based resorts (especially along the Mayan and Mexican Rivieras), but they are very long excursions....sort of sun up to sun down, and are very expensive, as they are charter excursions. Some of them are catch and release only. Some aren't. You pay for stuffing and mounting there, and then the cost for shipping your catch to you....game fish. $$$$$$$$$$$$$!! In many years of cruising the Caribbean, I can't remember seeing any ship-sponsored fishing excursions. Come down to our Gulf Shores!! Great surf and pier fishing, and good deals on charters. Good luck, and enjoy your cruise!

I'm with Imsulin on the advisability of deep sea fishing while in port on a cruise. However I know that in the past friends have fished while in Cozumel. I don't have any details but you might google Coz. and look at what the web site offers. Bill

my husband did the deep sea fishing last feb- had a blast- caught a 3 ft barracuda- he was the only one that caught anything. he is planning on doing it again this feb.

he signed up for this excursion thru royal caribbean and i think it was $125.00 for four hrs- it was worth it for us- the smile on his face when he back to the ship was so worth it.

he did not keep the fish- he gave it to the crew.

Carnival does offer fishing excursions, I saw one in Cozumel that I considered, but hubby doesn't fish(so sad) I do, but thought they were a bit expensive, and I wanted to see more than water when I was visiting a place for the first time. You may want to post this question in the PORTS area, where people who are familiar with each port can give you a better answer.

We sailed on the Legend in January, and absolutely LOVED it. Have a great time!

By the way, if you do catch anything, you cannot keep it. I mean where are you going to put it? You would have to have a taxedermist mount it for you and mail it back to the states. (getting more expensive now)
