Best way to get to Trogir from Split

My husband and I will be in Split in November. I am interested in checking out Trogir on our own. What is the best way to get there? How far is it from the port?

There is frequent bus service. The bus TO Trogir will be near the ferry port and train station. Back in the old days when I was last there (a few years ago) the bus returning FROM Trogir stopped south of the main town. I don't know if this is still true.

I don't know if it's still running in Nov but there is ferry service to Trojir. I learned about it on tripadvisor when we were planning our cruise in May. I'm sure if you could google it for more info. It sounded like a great way to spend a few hours. My plan was to spend the morning in Trojir then see Split. Unbelievably we slept until NOON, and just about missed Split altogether ! Obviously the beds on RCL are great !
