garycarla Posted September 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2010 When you get 3-4,000 people in one place, many of which are older, etc. etc, people do pass, often from natural causes. I think it happens way more than you hear about, as they are not normally a result of something unusual, just their time. 46 yr old? Rather young, but it does happen. Can anybody confirm this?? How very sad if this is true...... Yes, we saw the medical examiner at the pier and heard a code alpha called one evening at sea. We have been on nine cruises and this is the third time there has been a death. Sad but not uncommon. Sorry it was such a young person. bluefintuna Posted September 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2010 We saw the medical examiner's van waiting and we knew it had to be a death during the cruise. Most unfortunate, but not at all unusual. We have witnessed rescues at sea by Coast Guard helicopters for injured passengers or crew. They lower the basket onto the deck and it is awesome to see. roger001 Posted September 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2010 This past spring, I heard that 2 persons died during the spirit cruise we were on. One was on board and the other was while on shore. Again, for the number of passengers and the usually older age group, it's going to happen I guess.
