Getting to the beach in Cozumel

My DH and I are traveling w/ another couple on our cruise. When we are in Cozumel for the day the men plan to go deep sea fishing. My friend and I plan to head to the beach, and from what I can read hear I assume it will be Paradise Beach. Is it safe for two women to travel by cab to the beach by ourselves? I've been to cozumel before and didn't feel particularly unsafe but I just wanted to make sure. Any feedback on this for me the worry wort would be great! Thanks. :)

You-all should be ok to go anywhere on the island. My DW and her friends have taken taxi's by themselves and have had no problems. Remember, these taxi drivers depend on folks like you for their income. Complaints are bad for business.

You also might consider taking the water taxi to Playa del Carmen. It's about $16.50pp round trip and there's a very nice beach right by the pier.

Absolutely safe...you are only 10 minutes away from PB. You'll be on a heavily traveled road, in broad daylight with 1000's of other tourists around...no problem. There are no banditos around to ambush you, I promise!
