About the layout, can you give me the best way to get around the ship ,from floor to floor. Or would be easier once we figure it out ourselves. We will be sailing in Jan. Looking forward to it.I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise.

P.S we are on the empress deck, mid/aft location

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fantastic review. I can't wait until Jan when we get on her. Your pictures are great as well.

Hey neighbor..I am in Va Beach as well..was on the same cruise. I am not good at writing reviews..so fun to read others who were on the same cruise.

Shows/Talent

There was some great talent on this ship!

There was a show in the Venetian Palace on Sunday which was fabulous! They sang from different eras and different types of music. The male and female lead had fabulous voices! Also, they had some beautiful sets. I can't find the FunTimes for Sunday or else I could post the name of the show. Here are some shots:

P1060120.jpg

Also, there were two singers in the lobby. A man and a woman. I never got there names, but they were fabulous!!!

Price

You couldn't beat the price we paid for an 8C room-$1697 for 3 people! It was one of the reasons we booked this ship. Carnival continues to offer the best prices.

Specialty Dining

My best specialty dining experience on any ship. Well worth the $30 and not to be missed.

Security Situation

We boarded Saturday and noticed on Saturday night that there was a security guard in a chair in front of a room a few doors down from us. There was a security guard there for over 24 hours. Our first thought was that someone was sick and being quarantined. Found out later that it was a domestic situation and the person was taken off the ship at Cozumel.

The fight in the disco resulted in 5 people being removed from the ship. The casino dealers were talking about it. Apparently, it was bad!

OVERALL

We really enjoyed our Girl's Cruise and had a blast! I love to cruise, but would like to try new ports and maybe new ships. Would love to do a cruise through the Panama Canal, cruise Alaska or the Mediterranean.

My favorite itinerary so far has been the Southern out of PR.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

WOW.. I had no idea about 5 people leaving the ship in Cozumel:eek:. I heard

their was a fight in the disco, but never found out the details. How scarey to have a 24 security person on your floor.. My mind would of raced to all sorts of wrong conclusions.

I was on Deck 1...and NOTHING exciting happened down there.. VERY quiet..The only thing that would wake me up is the drunks coming back to their cabin after 1am..we were 3 doors from the elevator, and apparently they thought our cabin was the spot to stop and chat each evening:rolleyes:

Thank you, my fellow Virginian :o

Forget to mention that one of the casino dealers told me that 2 weeks ago, a woman who had never played Caribbean Stud-Progressive put $16 down and won $62,000, the progressive jackpot! Can you imagine?

Now that would pay for a lot of cruises!!:D

Thanks for the great review!! I truly enjoyed reading every bit of it!!

Thanks for the great review! I was on the Liberty, same itinerary last year for a birthday cruise and had a fantastic time! Fortunately I did not encounter any rudeness from fellow passengers. I had to chuckle at your enthusiasm for the fish and chips - I didn't find that until about the 5th day of the cruise! I guess my waistline is glad, but it sure was tasty! I loved the shore excursions we had planned - did Dunns River Falls in Jamaica with bobsledding, and swam with the stingrays in Grand Cayman (that was my absolute favorite) and of course visited Margaritaville. Overall, I had a great time on the Liberty and would definitely do that cruise again. My only complaint was about the dining times - no matter when we went, we had to wait longer than I've encountered on any other cruises. Perhaps this was just a glitch on our sailing. This year, I tried the Liberty of the Seas (RCCL). Also very nice...but didn't have the same selection of food as the Liberty. Great ship too...but I love food!

Already planning my next cruise for next April/May. Looking to go on another cruise within driving distance. Looked at Baltimore but didn't see anything that tickeled me. Think I've found a cruise out of Bayonne. Can't wait!

The only 'complication' is that decks 3 & 4 - don't go all the way across the ship due to the dining rooms/galley which are stuck there - so if on those decks you need to go up (or down?) to cross the ship.

On deck 7 you should have no problems - 2 decks up to the Lido - 2 decks down to the Promenade. Should you have dinner in the 'aft' dining room - just make sure you take the back stairs or back elevator to get there or you will be stuck on the 'wrong' side of deck 3 or 4! (and you will also get a small deck plan map on the ship that you can use....)

I wish I had this info before the cruise. It does get confusing! :D

Great review and we loved your photos!

Josef was the Maitre'd on our glory cruises in 2008. He is quite something! Did he say when he was leaving for Imagination? We'll be onboard Liberty for 2 weeks beginning Sept 25th and are looking forward to it!

Claudia and Rod

He should be on Imagination right now. Our cruise was his last on Liberty. Seems like going from Liberty to Imagination might be a demotion? 7 day to 3+ days and older ship?

Thanks for the great review! Do you have any more pictures you can share of Harry's Supper Club?

I have a few more pictures of food.

Butter etc for the bread:

You can see a bit of the room behind my daughter. I never noticed the hanging light strands:

P1060109.jpg

Not sure what dish this is:

Thanks for the compliments. I feel at a loss because I don't have another cruise planned. Planning a cruise is a big part of the fun! Hope everyone who has a cruise scheduled on Liberty has a fabulous time!!!

Great review. You have to do the Alaska cruise. We took that cruise in '05 and wanted to go back this year, but, unfortunately, my husband passed away before we could do it. Alaska is so pretty. Our cruise was the first week of Sept and the weather wasn't too bad. I have told everyone that is the one cruise you have to do once in your life.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. {{Hugs}}

I think Alaska may be our next cruise. What excursions did you do?

Absolutely LOVED your review! We are on this same sailing in 3 days! Reading your review made me even more excited!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera do you use?

You will have a blast! Do you have excursions planned?

Here's the camera I use:

How many pools does the Liberty have? I see 2 on the deck plans but I thought I saw where you mentioned it having 3.

What did they serve at the Mexican station on the Lido deck? I know burritos but was wondering what else they offered. Also, is there a menu to order from at the deli or will do they have all kinds of luncheon meats and then you design your sandwich??

Thanks for the wonderful review!!

There's the main pool on deck 9. Then there's an aft, adult pool on the same deck. Lastly, there's a pool right next to the bottom of the slide.

I saw the burrito station, but never ate there. As far as the deli, they had a list of about 8-10 sandwiches they would make. There was no order form, they prepared it while you waited. I remember pastrami, ham and cheese, tuna salad and several others.

I probably should have tried more foods. They had the Mongolian area-my mom and friend tried it and found it spicy, but they weren't impressed.

Hope this helps!

I tried the burrito station twice. They have shrimp, beef or chicken, then you choose what else you want put in. I remember guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomato, black beans. It's wrapped in waxed paper and put in a basket with tortilla chips and there's different salsas to help yourself to. You can also have it without any meat. I had one chicken and one shrimp and thought they were pretty tasty. There will also be tacos one day for lunch at the station at the bottom of the stairs up to fish and chips where usually desserts are. Enjoy, Liberty is a great ship!

Great review , very cute "3 redheads", you gals stand out in a crowd <grin>

I loved the Liberty, really thought it was the prettiest Carnival ship I have seen, loved the atrium, it felt very "light" and "airy" to me, very upbeat

Food and entertainment were spectacular IMHO

The shows on Liberty were the best I have seen really....both the male and female lead singers had great voices which was a treat

I think the "fellow passengers" is luck of the draw really....our week had few kids and really NO problems with fellow passengers. I do think a ship is like a small city, you just never know...domestic violence can happen anywhere, (sadly)

Thanks for a great review

That is a great looking camera, I have a new Canon myself and am loving it, but am worried about portability. Did you have any problems? Considering bringing along the little point and shoot for certain occasions.

Oooh, I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!:D

Its great hearing all these fantastic reviews and tidbits!

Thank you so much! Aside from the rude people, the cruise was great!

I think bringing along a point and shoot is a great idea. I think I might invest in a waterproof digital camera. There was a guy on my cruise last year who had one and it was a Fuji. Great pictures, small camera and under $150.

3redheads or any other recent Liberty cruiser can you remeber what the main shows are?

I ask because I will get 'brownie points' if I attend one show with my GF and I wouldn't mind knowing what the options are. I understand they don't change them very often so is there somewhere I can see what they are?

Thanks, Ben.
