Song of Norway

Our first cruise in 1996 was aboard the Song of Norway on MX Riv itinerary.

Elegence is the perfect word for that cruise. All men in tux ...Ladies in gowns. we fell in love with cruising on her.

Any one else remember the last days of the Song of Norway? I think it was the next year when we were on the Destiny, the Song was docked next to the DEstiny. Boy, did that give us an idea of how small the Song actually was.

My very first cruise was on Song of Norway in 1977, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I couldn't believe I was actually on a cruise ship and was sure it was a one-time event.

Well, I now have over 600 days on cruise ships, although not with RCL, no particular reason, tho.

:) My first cruise was on this great ship in 1985! Food and service was better then (and I have sailed many times since)

She was also so graceful a sight to return to after a day in port! Oh well, I guess I will need a time machine to get back to small and endearing vessels like S.O.N.!
